New Uses for the Ordinary

I personally enjoy thinking of ways to use an object a different way then it's intended purpose. Realsimple.com does an awesome job at publishing these ideas. I found the following from their series on "the kitchen", which is my least favorite room in the house.
  1. Using a coffee filter as a strainer -  With my recent discover of juicing, I find that some of the fruit & veggies that I juice tend to be foamy. I thought I was going to buy a fine strainer but with this tip, I'll save my money!
  2. Colander as a knitting organizer -  I don't knit but if I did this would be a helpful idea.
  3. Felt pads to keep the cutting board in place - I love this because I have a plastic cutting board that is a little warped and likes to spin around on me.
  4. Mouse pad as a trivet - You probably have some cute kitten mouse pads tucked away in a drawer. Put them to good use at your next gathering. I'm sure they will be conversation starters.
