Growing up too fast!

Jonah is already 16+ weeks old... my how the time flys! I often look back at pictures of when he was just a wee little guy and can't imagine how quickly he has grown up. He walks, runs, understands things you are telling him, hugs, kisses.... he even wants his own Facebook account!

Last weekend we took Jonah to the Chamblee Train Station where he got to check out the big machines. He loves buses, trucks... anything that is massive. Afterwards, we went to PDK (the local regional airport) to watch the planes take off and land. Jonah was much more interested in the fuel trucks that were parked near by. In between planes, Jonah got to play on the little playground that they have at PDK. He LOOOVES to slide. He hasn't figured out he has to lift his feet so he doesn't "stick" to the slide, so often his feet get caught and he ends up coming down upside down and sideways. But he loves it anyway.

All I can do at the moment is spend as much time with him that I can. This time is precious to me and I know it won't last forever. There isn't a better feeling than to see your son smiling and running toward you with his arms out stretched for you!

New Year & 16 weeks

Our New Year's eve was of the quieter version this year. We went to Kurt & April's house and rung in the New Year with them. We took Jonah with us and pick him down in the pack 'n play. Then woke him up at 12:30 am to go home. Oh, it's lovely how our lives have changed! No big dinner plans - no staying out til 4am - no hang over from over indulgence of spirits. Life is alot tamer these days.

I tried to find out of the sex of the baby before Christmas as a surprise for James. I went to the ultrasound tech but she couldn't be 100% sure of the sex so we still don't know. I go back on January 27th to find out. As for if I have any intuition of what the sex may be - I have none. I'm so not good at guessing the sex.

I'm 16 weeks today. Mostly I feel good but I do have times just overall feeling like crud. On the weekends, you will find me napping when Jonah takes his 2 hour nap. I wake up a lot at night to go to the bathroom and sometimes I can fall back asleep. I count myself lucky if I get 5 hours of sleep in a row. That sentence sounds crazy. I never would have thought I could function on such little sleep. Somehow you just do it.

Our Christmas was great. It was just nice to get together with family even though there was a few incidents of drama. (I'll save those conversations for a later date.) Jonah enjoyed opening his presents. He especially loved the Cheerios Nascar Matchbox cars I snagged from a co-worker (they were freebies from a client). He carries those cars all around the house. He also loves this Santa Workshop book I got for him.

Jonah is growing up so fast. "Kitty" is officially his first word. When he see the cat, George, he just squeals "kitty" then chases him. He walks/run all around the house. He loves plundering through cabinets, bags, boxes, Mommy's purse - speaking of, I still can't find my car keys. And I've noticed he likes to hide things. I'll find my water bottle on the closet shelf between my shoes. Oh and today he learned to lift the toilet lid and then attempted to splash in the water. Yea, I can't turn my head for a second.

Jonah also has pink eye right now. We took him to the Dr. Gary today and he prescribed some eye drops. It's a great experience each time we have to put the drops in his eyes. James & I have both commented that our eyes feel weird - I'm sure we'll both wake up tomorrow with a swollen shut, goopy eye! Pink eye should look really good with my braces.

And for all of those who haven't seen me recently - I got braces in October. It's step 2 in a 4 step process. I'm looking to replace a bridge I have had for 15 year with an implant. An implant is where they drill a post into your jaw bone and place a tooth on the post. The braces are to move the roots to the teeth next to the space to ensure there is enough room for the implant. I got bottom braces as well to straighten some crowded. Needless to I look beautiful right now. I have days where it's really hard looking in the mirror and then have have days where I just don't care. Especially hard with my body changing with the baby. I hoping the time will fly by and this time next year I'll be close to finishing this process.

Well, it's late and of course I'm tired. Happy New Year!

New Bundle of Joy

We have officially announced the pregnancy. I'm 11 weeks and feeling relatively great.
Here are the stats:
Due Date: June 19, 2009 - as the last time I'll be induced a week early b/c of the blood thinner I take.
Sex of the Baby: Unknown - probably won't find out until the new year unless I can sweet talk the ultrasound tech on my next visit. We will be sharing the sex of the baby but not the name. Of course, it would be great to have a little girl. I don't want to lean one way or the other because my feeling are always wrong.
Weight Gain: 2lbs so far. My appetite has been tremendously. I feel like eating all the time. Luckily, I joined the gym by my office so I can be strong for the delivery.
Other: The pregnancy is going extremely well. I heard the heartbeat last Wednesday and all my blood work is prefect. I get nauseous in the evening but eating usually takes it away (hence the weight gain). My sister will be delivering her baby girl in February. And my best friend, Gloria, will be delivering her baby in May. It's going to have cool have so many babies around the same age.

Now to our baby Jonah - he is walking everywhere and having a blast. We put up the Christmas tree on Friday and he has already found his favorite ornaments to pull off the tree. Right now, he's walking around with a cucumber in hand. He loves cucumbers & pickles! Definitely mommy's baby - even though he looks nothing like me! We share the same love of fruits and vegetables. Jonah will be 22 months when the baby arrives. I'm not sure if he is going to understand everything by then. OK - so now Jonah is mashing his cucumber into the cabinet so I got to go clean up!

Jonah is WALKING!

Not sure if this is a good thing or not... Well of course it is! I guess it's about time for him to grow up a little bit more. It is a little saddening to be honest. I have already noticed that he has gotten around and surprised me a couple of times! And so quickly... it was just last week that he was just taking 2-3 steps. Then 4-5 steps a couple of days later... and now he is walking all across the room! Here is the footage... ENJOY!

Busy is no excuse. . .

It's been too long since I have posted anything. Time flies when your having fun. Here are some pictures from our latest adventures.

We had a family fun day at the Georgia Aquarium in the beginning of October. Jonah loved the fishes but I think he loved people watching more. We got some really great pictures. The aquarium is very nice.

I run my first 5K since having Jonah in October as well. My friend, Emily, set up the relay race for us. James & Jonah came to support me. Of course, James had to get Jonah's picture with some of the Falcon's cheerleaders.

We went to Burt's Pumpkin Patch in October. Jonah was not happy with the pumpkins. Every
time we put he beside one, he started to cry. Maybe the rows of oranges pumpkins were a little overwhelming.

We went to 3 Halloween parties this year. One at Chris & Stacy's house in Woodstock. They totally decked out their house as always. Then we went to my brother's Halloween party in Dawsonville the next weekend. He provided the spooky haunted trail again this year. A lot of people turned out for the party and most of the younger kids when scared to death. But not Jonah - he gobbled around in his turkey outfit! We spent Halloween night with our friends Kurt & April's house in Inman park. They always have a great turn out of kids. Jonah & Grey were the cutest as a turkey & scarecrow.

Now we are gearing up for Thanksgiving. I have to admit this time of year is
my favorite. I love getting together with family and eating  wonderful meals. I especially love the day after Thanksgiving when we put up the Christmas tree and decorate the house. The house feels so full, warm and festive with the decorations. I hate to take them down when Christmas is over.
