New Year & 16 weeks

Our New Year's eve was of the quieter version this year. We went to Kurt & April's house and rung in the New Year with them. We took Jonah with us and pick him down in the pack 'n play. Then woke him up at 12:30 am to go home. Oh, it's lovely how our lives have changed! No big dinner plans - no staying out til 4am - no hang over from over indulgence of spirits. Life is alot tamer these days.

I tried to find out of the sex of the baby before Christmas as a surprise for James. I went to the ultrasound tech but she couldn't be 100% sure of the sex so we still don't know. I go back on January 27th to find out. As for if I have any intuition of what the sex may be - I have none. I'm so not good at guessing the sex.

I'm 16 weeks today. Mostly I feel good but I do have times just overall feeling like crud. On the weekends, you will find me napping when Jonah takes his 2 hour nap. I wake up a lot at night to go to the bathroom and sometimes I can fall back asleep. I count myself lucky if I get 5 hours of sleep in a row. That sentence sounds crazy. I never would have thought I could function on such little sleep. Somehow you just do it.

Our Christmas was great. It was just nice to get together with family even though there was a few incidents of drama. (I'll save those conversations for a later date.) Jonah enjoyed opening his presents. He especially loved the Cheerios Nascar Matchbox cars I snagged from a co-worker (they were freebies from a client). He carries those cars all around the house. He also loves this Santa Workshop book I got for him.

Jonah is growing up so fast. "Kitty" is officially his first word. When he see the cat, George, he just squeals "kitty" then chases him. He walks/run all around the house. He loves plundering through cabinets, bags, boxes, Mommy's purse - speaking of, I still can't find my car keys. And I've noticed he likes to hide things. I'll find my water bottle on the closet shelf between my shoes. Oh and today he learned to lift the toilet lid and then attempted to splash in the water. Yea, I can't turn my head for a second.

Jonah also has pink eye right now. We took him to the Dr. Gary today and he prescribed some eye drops. It's a great experience each time we have to put the drops in his eyes. James & I have both commented that our eyes feel weird - I'm sure we'll both wake up tomorrow with a swollen shut, goopy eye! Pink eye should look really good with my braces.

And for all of those who haven't seen me recently - I got braces in October. It's step 2 in a 4 step process. I'm looking to replace a bridge I have had for 15 year with an implant. An implant is where they drill a post into your jaw bone and place a tooth on the post. The braces are to move the roots to the teeth next to the space to ensure there is enough room for the implant. I got bottom braces as well to straighten some crowded. Needless to I look beautiful right now. I have days where it's really hard looking in the mirror and then have have days where I just don't care. Especially hard with my body changing with the baby. I hoping the time will fly by and this time next year I'll be close to finishing this process.

Well, it's late and of course I'm tired. Happy New Year!
